Can anyone tell me the origin and age of the Franciscan insigna with
the arm of Christ crossed with the arm of St. Francis on a cross with
the Franciscan cincture linking the ends of the horizontal element of
the cross together?  And for how long has the shield with the Wounds
of Christ been a Franciscan emblem as well?
