Not sure if this is appropriate for this forum, but... I see on jpc that
finally a second volume of Franz Lachner's string quartets is on the way
from Amati played by the Rodin quartet, with the A major op. 76 and the
d minor op. 120 (for once, a work of his I've seen in score- of all his
quartets, there _are_ quite a few, I've only seen three, at New York Public
Library at Lincoln Center (3rd floor) -
the op. 75 in b
the op. 120 in d
and the op. 169 in G ... they do look interesting, by the way!)
I hope there will be yet more volumes in the cycle. I especially look
forward to the b minor, hardly simply because of its somewhat rare key.
(Prokofiev, Haydn, Atterberg, Golubev, Shebalin and Barber, e.g.
notwithstanding.)
