While I see and agree with elements of both sides of the issue of culling,
perhaps a discussion should follow the pusuit of digital recording methods.
With imaging and 3d technology what they are today, artifacts intended for
discard could be photographed, digitized, rendered in three dimensionality
and documented.  Perhaps not ideal for the tactile qualities some may seek,
but certainly better than nothing and virtual space is much more abundant
and cheaper - such processes should be part of all recording procedures now,
in any case.
