Dear Colleagues: Below are two state contractual positions in Maryland that
are available.

Collections Curator

The Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory seeks qualified
applicants for the position of Collections Curator.  The curator will be
responsible for Federal collections from Maryland at the repository;
including management of agreements with Federal agencies to curate
collections, perform inventories, assess and provide preventative
conservation for artifacts, records maintenance, and report submittal.
Knowledge of historic and prehistoric Mid-Atlantic artifacts preferred.
Master's Degree in anthropology, history, museum studies, or related field
required.  Applicant may substitute additional museum experience for the
required education at the rate of one year of experience for one year of the
required education for a maximum of two years.  Position to start on or
about October 23, 2002.  Full-time, contractual position, no benefits,
$15.68/hour.  Send resume and the names of three references to Personnel

Data Entry Technician

The MAC Lab seeks qualified applicants for the position of Data Entry
Technician for its project, Developing a Computerized Catalog for the
Archaeological Collections.  The Data Entry Technician will be responsible
for entering catalog data into a computer database. Some knowledge of
historic and prehistoric Mid-Atlantic artifacts preferred.  BA in
anthropology, history, American Studies, or related field required, or
applicant may substitute AA and one year field and laboratory experience.
Position starts on or about October 23, 2002 and lasts approximately 9.5
months. Full-time, contractual position, no benefits, $10.67/hour.   Send
