The History Channel had a 2 hour special called Highway Hangouts the other
night. It featured a lot of the strange and wonderful roadside attractions
from the early tourist years along our nation's highways, especially in
Florida.
Pertaining to the folk question, the Grotto of Redemption in West End,
Iowa, has now become a folk art site, although it was originally built as a
shrine to the Virgin Mary.
