While I would argue that is a challenge to Brahms' genius to articulate
with the solo instrument all that he has to say, I am wondering if there
is an alternative to the Ormandy recording of the Rubbra orchestration
(which is the only one I have heard). Handel and Rubbra, the Englishmen
vs. Handel and Brahms, the Germans; it is a little tough to sort out on
the basis of just one recording.
