Stoke d'Abernon? Wasn't there a span of years between Menuhin's knighthood
and his taking British citizenship, which is when he became Sir Yehudi?
Ronald Reagan has a knighthood (honestly!) but cannot call himself Sir
Ronald because he is not a British citizen.

(BTW I'm so late catcing up with these messages because - as Tony knows -
I was in the UK for 3 weeks and only returned a couple of days ago)
