As I understand things "the last trumpet" of Catholic liturgy comes out
"der letzte Posaune" ("the last trombone") in German and probably even in
Swedish (I seem to recall some reference to "sju basunar" on the soundtrack
of Bergman's "Sjunde Inseglet" (Seventh Seal) while the subtitle indicated
"seven trumpets").  Hence the prominence of trombones at "tuba mirum."
