Myth: a story of forgotten or vague origin, basically religious or
supernatural in nature, which seeks to explain or rationalize one or more
aspects of the world or a society.
Laypersons tend to collapse/confuse the meanings of "myth", "fallacy",
"legend", etc. In order for something to truly be mythological, it must have
some supernatural component and attempt to explain natural (why does the sun
rise) or historical phenomena (origin myths).
