my very close friend, a Russian emigre who came to the U.S.. in the 1970s
has played in the Leningrad Phil., Boston symphony, Rochester Phil and
has been in the first violin section of the NY Phil for almost 20 years-
Gergiev conducted the NY Phil and i asked him what he thought- he implied
rather clearly that he was not a good conductor - lot of bombast-
so___________________!
