I think conductors in today's society are conducting more for the money
and  not for the good of the group.

In the youth orchestras, conductors are more for the group than the adult
orchestras, because in adult orchestras, money is the main priority rather
than the music.  Conductors effect the way musicians play, and therefore,
effect the way a concert is presented.  It is better to attend Youth
Orchestra concerts, because music is the main priority!
