Tim,
I hate to be negative, but a 1/2 acre of forage for a bee is microscopic.
When one considers that bees cover the entire area within a 3 mile radius of
their hive, this s an area of over 16,000 acres.

If you have lawn grass like I do, plant white Dutch clover.  It is good for
you lawn and the bees will work it, but it makes things tough for walking in
bare feet.
