CONGRATULATIONS TO ANITA COHEN-WILLIAMS
The Society for Historical Archaeology and its Awards Committee
are very pleased to announce that Anita Cohen-Williams has been selected by
the committee to receive one of the three SHA Awards of Merit to be
presented in January 2002 at the upcoming SHA Annual Meeting in Mobile,
Alabama.
Anita is being honored as the creator, builder, manager and
director of this listserve - HISTARCH. Her contribution to our field
has revolutionized the ability of historical archaeologists on at least
five continents to communicate with each other. The openess of
HISTARCH which encourages discussion on all topics ranging from the
identification of individual artifacts to the broadest questions of
theory and the social-political positioning of historical archaeology
reflects the holism of the list's owner. At the same time discussion
has been consistently kept focused on historical archaeology.
Congraturalions to Anita. She is, indeed, the MOTHER of
HISTARCH.
A full list of all award recipients for SHA Mobile 2002 will
follow in a day or two.
