Announces an Opening for
ARCHAEOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
The University of West Florida is seeking an Archaeology Instructor to
teach at the Fort Walton Beach Campus for the Department of Sociology and
Anthropology and to conduct research in cooperation with the Archaeology
Institute. This is a full time, non-tenured, permanent faculty position
with a salary range of $27,000-$32,000. Duties include organizing and
implementing a public archaeology program in the Fort Walton Beach area,
teaching both classroom and field-based courses in archaeology and
anthropology, obtaining and directing archaeological research projects, and
articulating with the area community college. These activities will be
undertaken in cooperation with the existing staff of five archaeologists at
UWF's Archaeology Institute. Qualifications include a graduate degree in
Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or a related field; at least 6 years
experience supervising prehistoric and historic archaeological field work
in the Southeast and Florida; college-level teaching experience; and
experience in public-oriented archaeology. Application including cover
