Subject: Winter Issue, A&PE
The Winter issue of the electronic newsletter, Archaeology & Public
Education, has now been posted. You may view it at
http://www.saa.org/PubEdu/a&pe/index.html.
The Winter issue contains articles about the Society for American
Archaeology's Public Education Award, excavations at Moundville in Alabama,
and the the Double Ditch Site in North Dakota, as well as news about the
museums at Dickson Mounds and Cahokia Mounds. There is information on
summer workshops for teachers, as well as on a variety of upcoming
conferences. Web sites highlighted in this issue include ones on Great
Lakes shipwrecks, the Plymouth Colony, and virtual Jamestown. There are
also new programs offered on The Archaeology Channel. Links to
archaeological resources organized by state are also included in the
newsletter.
The Spring issue of A&PE will post on or about March 1. News items,
announcements of programs and workshops, interesting web sites and other
information will be gladly accepted at any time. The deadline for
submission of items for the Spring issue will be in early February.
