Hello Friends,
A friend brought me some pieces she collected on a paleo survey she
conducted. The items were comprised mainly of historic glass and some
porcelain plate frags, but there were also some large porcelain sherds, very
thick and painted brown. They're curved like the part of the lip on a bowl
or crock that holds the lid. Anyway, I would call it a fragment from a bowl
or crock if it weren't for the material. She had mentioned that another
friend suggested it was an insulator to an electrical pole which might
explain why the porcelain was painted brown. I don't have much experience in
industrial archaeology and I would appreciate any knowledge on the topic.
Thanks!
Mary Garrett
