Steve Schwartz laments, about the cuts in the "the Gershwins' 'Porgy and
Bess'". That's an odd locution [note 'the Gershwins' plural]; the only
precedent I can think of is "Gilbert and Sullivan's 'The Mikado' or
'Iolanthe'":

Think Mussorgsky and Bruckner.
Actually, I quite enjoyed the performance, cuts and all. But, yes, I'd
love to see the whole thing, uncut. At least we got the Jazzbo Brown bit,
which is so often cut.
