Singspiel - BBC Radio 3 has an all-Saturday Verdi day including, at 13:00,
the Met's broadcast of Aida. On Monday, at 14:30 they have the "world
premiere of John Adams's `El nino'". Also on Monday at 16:30 Antena2 has
Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov's "Vera Sheloga". On Tuesday at 20:00 WNED has
Christoph Gluck's Iphigenie en Tauride.

Sacred Music - There are two versions of Verdi's Requiem this week: CBC
Radio 2 on Sunday at 08:11 and Friday at 13:30 Swedish Radio P2. Close to
midnight Saturday Antena2 has Mozart's Requiem; at 10:00, also on Saturday,
BBC/3 has Verdi's Four Sacred Pieces. On Monday there's John Adam's 'El
Nino' (see above). On Wednesday at 04:00 BBC/3 has excerpts from Claudio
Monteverdi's 1610 Vespers; at 15:50 Antena2 has A. Ortells' "Oratoria
Sacra a Paixao de Cristo Nosso Senhor".

Curiosities - Last year members of this forum discussed writers who were
also composers. None of us mentioned Paul Bowles. Swedish Radio P2 will be
broadcasting six of his works at 05:00 Tuesday.
