Ralph Vaughan Williams served in the Medical Corps in WWI and, of course,
George Butterworth was an Army Officer in WWI and was killed in the Battle
of the Somme. Ivor Gurney served on the Western Front in WWI and was
gassed. Would you count Ivor Novello? He was serving on the Western Front
also when he wrote "Keep The Home Fires Burning".
