The Corporation for Jefferson's Poplar Forest and the University of
Virginia, Lynchburg Center, are sponsoring our 7th annual summer field
school in historical archaeology. The class will run from June 19-July
22, with an optional 5th week, and can be taken for academic credit or
non-credit. The field school is open to undergraduates, graduates, or
interested adults (18 or older). This year, field work will focus on
exploring Jefferson's landscape design, and continuing excavations at the
site of an early 19th century slave quarter. Application deadline is
April 28. For more info., contact Barbara Heath at The Corporation for
Jefferson's Poplar Forest, P.O. Box 419, Forest, VA 24551 (804) 525-1806
