Another source addressing European folk religions and their significance
within particular social histories is: "The Times of Thier Lives: Life,
Love & Death in Plymouth Colony," by Jim Deetz and Patricia Scott Deetz
(W.H. Freeman, Nov. 2000). It includes a chapter entitled "There Be Witches
Too Many," which provides very useful commentary on the facets of Anglo-
American non-Christian folk religion beliefs and their interactions with
Christian beliefs over time.
