You should definitely pursue this, no matter what age. At the age of
26, I went back to music (after getting a degree in something else). I
enrolled at Mannes College of Music and pursued a masters in composition
and theory. My Dad, who has a wonderful natural ear and was a masterful
harmonic player, started his first formal lessons in piano and reading
music in his 40s at Philadelphia's Settlement Music School.
