The Brazilian organization Amigas do peito (Friends of the breast) stages
participatory performance events at fairs and the like. They always have an
art studio/gallery-- impromptu easels with paper and paints or crayons set
up in a wide ring around a comfortable chair. Children are invited to draw
or paint the live model in the chair. Amigas makes sure there is a BF
couple in the chair all the time. The works of art are posted on the
surrounding walls as they are completed. The children bring their parents
and grandparents to see their masterpieces. When Amigas started, their goal
was to make it acceptable to look directly at women BF in public, to get
children and parents talking about BF, and to get images of BF imprinted in
a very powerful way in the memories of the children.

They have a carnival doll, a huge mother figure with breasts who is called
Mama Lu, I believe, and the doll participates in parades, with dancing and
singing 'Mama yo quiero' (Mama, I want you-- hope that is spelled right) and
answering questions from the crowd about BF.

Maybe the Mama Lu doll wouldn't work in your public library or local museum,
but the BF art studio is a brilliant idea, IMO.
