You make a very good point that occurred to me when Paul Hampson commented
that he relies heavily on glass dating, except when Mexican and Spanish sites
are so lacking in glass. The point is that scavenging old bottles for reuse
was a major cottage industry here in San Diego prior to the 1950s.
Pharmacies, saloons, and snake oil industries often reused old bottles.
