William Moss posted an article from the Daily Telegraph (England) on an
archaeological site in Oxford related to medical school dissections in the
18th century, body snatching, etc. If you're interested in reading about a
similar project in the U.S. (Medical College of Georgia Site, 19th century),
refer to "Bones in the Basement: Postmortem Racism in Nineteenth-Century
Medical Training," edited by Blakely and Harrington, Smithsonian Inst.
Press, Washington and London, 1997. This is a detailed analysis of more
than 9000 human bones, mostly from African Americans, associated artifacts,
and what they revealed.
