I showed several moms with this type of baby how to nurse in a sling with the
baby *upright*. It was fantastic, they finally didn't have to nurse in bed,
yet baby would latch on just like s/he did in bed. maybe because her/his
body was in the same position relative to mom's as when side lying? probably
in part b/c baby is doing it themselves?
One of these babies is 13 mos and still nursing, one is 7 mos and still going
strong, the other that I can think of off the top of my head was weaned
abruptly at 9 mo of age due to biting....and I didn't know about it till
later;(
None of them ever ended up nursing in the 'typical' nursing position.
