Dear All, If you can find them, try the live Furtwangler/BPO Wagner
overtures on DG Japan.  It is one of the finest single Wagner CDs I have
ever heard.  The sound has plenty of impact and the playing and conducting
are stunning.  Try the radiant *singing* of orchestra in the Good Friday
Music (Alexandria,1951) or the awesome build up of power in Seigried's
Funeral March (Berlin, 1949).  This CD really is something else ...
