Singspiel - at 09:00 Sat (14:00:00 GMT) Swedish Radio P2 has Leonard
Bernstein' A White House Cantata (with lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner).
At 13:00 (18:00:00 GMT) BBC Radio 3, WNED-FM, CBC Radio 2, La Chaine
Culturelle has the Metropolitan Opera's production of Ferruccio Busoni's
Doktor Faust.  At the same time Antena2 has Giuseppe Verdi's "Falstaff".
A half-hour later, Swedish Radio P2 has Verdi's "Ernani".  Verdi, during
each weekday at 04:00:00 (09:00:00 GMT) is BBC/3's Composer of the Week.
An hour later on Thu and Fri Swedish Radio P2 also broadcasts Verdi
excerpts.  On Mon 16:30 (21:30:00 GMT) Antena2 has Giacomo Puccini's
"Gianni Schicchi".  At 20:00 Tue (01:00:00 GMT Wed) WNED-FM has Pyotr
Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin.  In a display of new music (see below)
BBC/3 on Thu 14:30 (19:30:00 GMT) a performance of Aulis Sallinen's sixth
opera, `King Lear', which received its world premiere at the Finnish
National Opera in Helsinki last September.  On Thu 15:00 (20:00:00 GMT)
Antena2 has Verdi's "Giovanna d'Arco".

New Music - starting with a special 4-hour edition of the program "Two
New Hours" starting on Sun at 20:05 (01:05:00 GMT Mon) CBC Radio 2 will
be broadcasting and celebrating excerpts from the 10th annual Winnipeg New
Music Festival shown on various days during the week at 13:30 and 20:00.
Generally,this displays Canadian composers such as Kelly-Marie Murphy, Omar
Daniel, Jeffrey Ryan, Chan Ka Nin and R.  Murray Schafer, but it also has
others, such as Bright Sheng and on Friday at 20:00 it displays Cuba!  in
music by Gavilan, Leon and Hiscott and, the second half of the evening,
Jane Bunnett and the Spirits of Havana.
