All over England (well, the part of it where I live, anyway) there are
large signs up at checkouts, cinemas, pay stations and in fact anywhere
designed to relieve you of ready money, to the effect that Faraday is no
longer acceptable, it has to be Elgar.

Though much of the livestock that still somehow remains sane is now being
cremated, all is not up with the UK.  The old design of the 20-pound note
showing Michael Faraday is no longer legal tender, since the Bank of
England has re-designed it to include a portrait of Sir Edward.

This is still a Land of Hope and Glory.
