                      $1,333.60 - $1,620.80 biweekly; $34,674 - $42,141
annually

   JOB SUMMARY:
                      Responsible for the collection, identification,
classification, and the preservation of
                      objects and sites of historical and archaeological
interest related to County facilities,
                      specifically County parks.  Research and write
in-depth reports on the history of existing
                      or proposed parks.  Give presentations on historical
and archaeological topics related to
                      County facilities, including County parks.  Provide
staff support for the protection of
                      objects, buildings and sites of historical interest
in County parks or as part of County
                      facilities.
   REQUIREMENTS:

                      Qualified applicants must possess a bachelor's degree
in history, archaeology,
                      anthropology, museum studies, or a closely related
field.  A master's degree or a
                      doctorate in history, archaeology, anthropology, or a
closely related field is highly
                      desired.  A record of publication in the field of
specialty is an asset.
   ALSO REQUIRED:
                      A valid California class C driver's license or the
ability to arrange transportation for field
                      travel is required at time of appointment.
   EVALUATION:
                      The names of qualified applicants will be placed on
an employment list based on scores
                      received during the evaluation of information
contained in their employment and
                      supplemental application.
