In reference the James Brothers' note about slag analysis, I'd like
to point out that an article by Don Linebaugh about the early work of
Roland Robbins will appear in Volume 26, Number 1 of IA, Journal of
the Society for Industrial Archeology, which is being printed just
now. In that article Linebaugh illustrates examples of Robbins'
important work, including chemical analyses of slag and artifacts
from Saugus , performed during the 1948-1953 investigations.
