I first came across Karl Haas in 1976, when I was an enlisted man in West
Berlin. His show was carried by Armed Forces radio. When I first heard
that unbelievable voice, I was transfixed. There was something about it
that just made me want to listen, and I wasn't that big a CM fan in those
days. Now I hear him on WBJC in Baltimore. The voice is still the same
after all these years, and for all the flack I'm sure he draws, you can
always learn at least one thing in every one of his shows. Eric is right:
Karl Haas does deserve some sort of recognition for his yeoman service in
our cause.
