Deryk Barker writes concerning Haydn string quartets:

>I don't know if the Kuijken has recorded any yet....

They have recorded the Opus 76 set on Denon. I wasn't very impressed
except for No. 1. Although on period instruments, they don't really
deliver the advantages inherent in using period instruments. As Deryk
pointed out, the Mosaiques is likely the best group. Although I also agree
with Deryk that the Salomon Quartet isn't quite up to the level of the
Mosaiques, I have a warm spot for them since they introduced me to period
instrument performances of both Haydn and Mozart string quartets.
