Monday, Nov. 27, 2000. Our Public Radio Station, WVIK, 90.3 f.m., on the
campus of Augustana Colllege, Rock Island, Illinois-just celebrated its
20th Anniversary this September. It has two 1 week fundraisers (spring
& fall) trying to raise $150,000.00 for each fundraiser. The fall 2000
campaign ended on Nov. 22, 2000 raising $127,000.00. The rest is made up
from local grants. They have N.P.R. news from 6-8:35 a.m. and classical
music from 8:35 a.m.to noon & 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Their
web site is wvik.org.  Suggested individual membership is $35 & family is
$50. The University of Iowa 60 miles to the West has the closest classical
music station to WVIK.
