There is also a DVD, filmed by Petr Weigl w/ the text sung by Brigitte
Fassbaender, in which the winter's journey is presented as a trip by stage
coach of various characters, each w/ his or her own story, including a
young consumptive girl.  Its "plot" such as it is, is neither the romantic
one presented by Robert Peters, no my cynical alternative suggestion, and
really doesn't need to be followed too seriously.  The cinematography is
an excellent background to a touching performance of the song cycle.
