Quite by accident yesterday, I stumbled upon a delightful new cd by the
Flanders Recorder Quartet on the Opus 111 label (OPS 2029), entitled
Armonia di Flauti. Works by Bach, Vivaldi, Susato, Isaac, Ciconia,
Holborne, Hirose.

This is some incredible virtuoso playing. The sound of these instruments
in consort is sweet yet vibrant and energetic, and the fact that they can
produce such a wide pallette of color with a piece of wood is just amazing.

Heartily recommended for early music buffs and for those who just want
to try something different and refreshing.
