I cannot answer all your questions.  They recorded the Schubert symphonies
for the Nimbus label, but their outstanding Schumann symphonies are on RCA.
Both their Schubert and Schumann symphony cycles are well worth owning,
especially the Schumann.  I think there's a history to why it's identified
as a "band" rather than SO or PO, but the effect is the same.
