Alasdair,

Yes, I would like to obtain a copy of your work and analyze the specifics. I
believe that vessel form is not the issue out here either. Generally, people
of most ethnic background sought the same vessel forms. We really have not
conducted satisfactory research on quantifying design element consumer
selection by ethnic group or economic class out here. I think most
archaeologists are happy to identify transfer-print or hand painted
decoration as the designs. They usually then go out of their way to conduct
museum-style identification of the transfer-print design, rather than
quantify consumerism patterns. I have found myself wanting in reading those
reports because I do not know if people of German, English, Danish etc.
ethnic backgrounds selected different patterns or designs in different
degrees. Now, what I am hearing from you is that in England you have
community preferences in patterns and designs. Have you considered publishing
those results over here?
