I don't remember that movie, but I actually do remember the song "Kitty
from Kansas City". Rudy Vallee had a recording of it which I was exposed
to as a youngster because a kid on our block who I pal'd around with had
a massive collection of 78 r.p.m. records. However, I fail to see in
it even the slightest resemblance to any "well known" classical (or
popular) melody. The song seemed just like another typical tune (of that
era) with a sort of predictable "circle of fifths" harmonic progression.
But if it would help at all, I might be able to write the music down from
memory......or better yet, secure a recorded copy of the song for you, so
you can judge for yourself. You are welcome to contact me.
