1) I think Ned envies Perlman the money and the fame.
2) I think Ned is right with his point about the unjustified importance
of the interpreters.  I just recently bought a CD of Prokofievs Romeo
and Juliet Suite.  The Cover shows nothing but Michael Tilson Thomas (in
gold!).  Tilson Thomass name is bigger than Prokofievs.  And it is there
two times: MTT is says in very big type.  And on the CD itself MTT is
written all over the disc.  (Why not "R&J by SG conducted by MTT"? This
would have been consequent.)
