Joseph Previte wrote regarding Don Satz's question re the DG reissue of
Argerich's 3 Bach works:
>It is an "Originals" disc. Same works, same performances as before - all

>markedly improved sound picture.
I'll add that at her March recital, her slow movements were more
rhythmically flexible as recommended by treatises in the 18th century
(notes, inegal style) and I found those very beautiful while I personally
don't respond as well to the rather-straight slow movements decades ago on
DG.
Also -- for some cuts from live concert recordings (1978-79), most of the
material not set to disc before by her, the new EMI ones CD issues are very
worth getting, for those who enjoy her playing of course, but on the solo
disc the Prokofiev 7th sonata follows the Bartok sonata almost immediately
and I've met some who don't care for that big a dose of assertive-modern.
I love the Ginastera set.
