Perahia's disc at reduced price is a good deal. In the performances,
Perahia is the conductor as well as soloist. I think very highly of his
soloist performance, but the orchestral contributions are rather light and
restrained compared to Rolla's on a Teldec disc with Cyprien Katsaris as
pianist. Still, Perahia's is a good choice, and the price makes it even
more recommendable. Overall, reviews have been highly complimentary. So
buy and enjoy - for $10 you can't go wrong.
