Hello? Alan Blumlein invented a nethod of cutting stereo grooves into
records, which was patented by EMI in *1931*.  Stereo recordings were made
in 1932 and 1933 (Bell Labs and EMI) but 78s were too noisy for stereo to
be a viable proposition.

And there were true stereo tape recordings made in German in 1944 (a
complete Emperor Concerto with IIRC Gieseking and the last movement of
Karajan's Bruckner 8).
