When Dennis Brain (an alumnus of St Paul's School) died, a small fund was
created in his memory. The school now aims to increase the endowment to a
full bursary for a gifted young brass player. This concert aims to
revitalize interest in the Dennis Brain Memorial Scholarship.

The evening also marks the opening of the second concert season in The
Wathen Hall, the new 316-seat concert hall at St Paul's School. During its
inaugural season the hall has held celebrity piano recitals by Murray
Perahia and Radu Lupu and is fast establishing itself as an exciting new
concert venue in London.

Malcolm Arnold has kindly agreed to attend this very special concert.
