Herbert was a friend of Dvorak and is most famous for writing 'Babes in
Toyland", it was he who encouraged Dvorak to write the cello concerto.
It sounds like 19th century teutonic-american composition.

Grofes grand canyon suite is one of the more popular light works from
America - it is a relative to the tradition of music of Von Suppe in
its past, and is a cousin to Copland's Americana style and the 1930's
neoclassicists.
