"1913-1976--Russia
"He studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Heinrich Neuhaus and
later he became a professor there. Zak was an objective player, but
somewhat dry. His recording of Kabalevsky's Third Sonata is typical
of his playing. He taught many first-rate artists; among his students
were Youri Egorov and Alexander Toradze."
