*Susannah* is going to be one of the operas in next season's Washington
Opera series at the Kennedy Center (along w/ Tosca, Rigoletto, Le Cid,
I Puritani, Julius Caesar, and Otello). As an inducement to renew
subscriptions they send current subscribers a generous CD w/ recorded
selections from the following season's operas. The two exerpts from
*Susannah* ("Ain't it a pretty night?" and "Come, sinner, tonight's the
night") from the Nagano/Studer/Ramey performance sounded quite moving and
interesting.
