Denis Fodor responds when Margaret Mikulska questions rhetorically:
>>Why is it that a modern work has to be "flanked" by some of the top-10
>>classics and not by something just slightly off the beaten path.
>
>Margarte Mikulska proposes, box office disposes.
Yes, the wisdom and commercial acumen of orchestral managements
and programmers is demonstrated by the financial strength of symphony
orchestras everywhere. Every day we read of new orchestras springing up
like weeds. Top Forty works. It is what the people want. You wouln't
want to interfere with such a fine system, would you Margete?
