I have been very pleased with the Hickox on-going series on
Chandos/Chaconne played on period instruments.  Harnoncourt has also
recorded some Haydn masses; I like them, but many consider them too hard
driven and unyielding.  Ferencsik, quite a few years ago, recorded the
Harmoniemesse on Hungaroton, and I still have a warm spot for this
excellent performance.
