Naxos's September releases include Vol 15 of Glazunov's orchestral works
(Symphonies 5 and 8), Michael Halasz conducting Mozart's C Minor Mass,
A Polish Turangalila, and a third volume of symphonies by Kraus. There
are also two releases in a series I hadn't heard of before - 21st Century
Classics. They are a violin concerto and other works by Balada (Spanish,
b 1933), and 60th Parallel, a 1996 opera by one Philippe Manoury which is
set in an airport during a snowstorm - this *has* to be a first! American
Classics has the Nashville Symphony performing Hanson's 1st with Merry
Mount, and Ives 2nd with the Robert Browning Overture.
